Trasformare una libreria in credenza si può

Ebbene si. I tessuti antichi o semplicemente quelli che non usiamo più da tempo si possono riutilizzare perfettamente. Non sempre si ha a disposizione una bella credenza antica magari ripatinata da noi. Spesso bisogna avere a che fare con la dura realtà quotidiana che non permette di agire subito con un colpo di bacchetta magica. Così, ho pensato che utilizzare una vecchia libreria dell'Ikea come credenza per il piccolo ambiente cucina poteva essere utile. Ho tolto le prime due mensole superiori per avere più spazio ed ho arricchito con un volant bianco la parte alta. Ho messo delle tendine bianche (un vecchio lenzuolo) anche nella parte inferiore della libreria-credenza, in modo da creare degli ambienti chiusi. La parte a vista l'ho utilizzata per deporre piatti, tazzine, vecchi tessuti da cucina, cassette di legno ridecorate per contenere altre suppellettili ed anche il forno a microonde!

Con dei vecchi strofinacci francesi ho arredato anche la cappa della cucina, inserendo anche un fregio acquistato in un mercatino (probabilmente proveniente da una sedia). Prima o poi pubblicherò delle immagini più complete di tutti gli ambienti della casa. In realtà è che è sempre in divenire perché a me piace cambiarla e non riesco mai a stare ferma pensando a come posso migliorare ciò che vedo intorno a me.

Itinerari toscani

Dopo quasi un mese di assenza da questo blog riprendo a scrivere con piacere (sperando che sia reciproco ) e voglio raccontarvi di un piccolo tour toscano fatto in questo periodo. La zona è quella della provincia senese e l'agriturismo dove ho avuto il privilegio di soggiornare è La fornace di San Galgano, eccezionale struttura per posizione, architettura e gentilezza del proprietario. Pochi appartamenti indipendenti, ristrutturati in perfetto stile toscano e con mobili adeguati. La bellezza del paesaggio, il verde dei prati esaltato dal sole primaverile, i fiori e le piante curate personalmente dal titolare, fanno di questo luogo un piccolo paradiso, ideale per immergersi completamente in un'altra epoca dentro una dimensione agreste e magica, dove sono i suoni della Natura a prendere il sopravvento e non quelli della vita frenetica quotidiana.

Si sa che la Toscana è una terra molto bella, rimasta intatta nelle sue tradizioni secolari, ricca di scorci suggestivi nelle città come nei piccoli borghi. Uno di questi che voglio segnalare è Chiusdino (SI), un bellissimo paesino medievale con tantissima storia al suo interno e patria di San Galgano, il condottiero che infilò la spada nella roccia. Ovviamente, una volta che siete qui è d'obbligo una visita all'abbazia di San Galgano, nelle vicine campagne, e all'eremo che contiene la spada. Da non perdere!!

Anjou Vélo Vintage 2013 - Concorso d'eleganza

Vi ricordate il post precedente sull'evento ciclistico vintage in Francia? Ebbene, quest'anno sarà coronato anche da un divertente concorso d'eleganza che premierà quattro categorie: autentico, trendy, glamour e sportivo. Saranno preselezionati 24 partecipanti, 6 per tema ed una giuria di professionisti del settore della moda e del ciclismo sarà presente per giudicare l'originalità e la qualità dello stile vintage con la moda rétro. Carino, no? Penso che sia veramente una festa particolare questo weekend francese e sarebbe proprio bello poterlo almeno vedere.

E voi che stile preferireste vestire per un evento rétro?

Anjou Vélo Vintage 2013

Anche quest'anno, a Saumur (Francia), il 22 e 23 giugno si svolgerà l'evento vintage "Anjou Vélo Vintage", una gara ciclistica completamente rétro di cui avevo già scritto QUI e QUI. Non solo. Le due giornate si arricchiscono di vari spunti interessanti come le visite museali, il cibo, le feste ed ovviamente un bel mercatino d'antan, il tutto in versione vecchio stile, per cui munitevi di abbigliamento consono. Se siete interessate a partecipare regalandovi un bellissimo weekend nella campagna francese, non vi resta che informarvi sull'apposito sito QUI. Quest'evento vintage è molto cresciuto in pochi anni attirando turisti ed appassionati e sicuramente farà il pieno anche quest'estate. Non so se esista anche in Italia un programma del genere (non credo), ma qualora ci fosse fatemelo sapere.

Event vintage "Anjou Vélo Vintage" 22-23 June 2013

Siete anche voi delle amanti del cake design? Ultimamente questa forma d'arte culinaria sta contagiando tutti e spesso mi capita di vedere in tv o in rete professionisti spuntati da chissà dove che mostrano le loro creazioni e pseudo tali che s'improvvisano maestri pasticceri. E' tutto un brulicare di arte e manualità creativa, come nel decoro handmade e devo dire che come sempre, l'importante è il risultato. Per chi è interessata, in Italia esiste anche il bel sito Cake Design Italia  dove potrete trovare tutte le informazioni per iniziare questa attività o per avere degli spunti. Tra le mie pasticcere preferite vi sono le bravissime Fiorella Balzamo e Letizia Grella che ho scoperto da poco tempo e sono formidabili. E poi, l'immancabile Buddy Valastro, megalomane e perfezionista come tutti gli artisti. Tra i siti inglesi, sono rimasta incantata nel visitare Peggy Porschen.
